Sara Tiano is a journalist, copywriter and nonprofit communications specialist based in Los Angeles. Her journalism focuses largely on issues facing youth and families, including child welfare, education, housing and the justice system.

In addition to her full-time work as a journalist for The Imprint, Sara’s freelance work includes writing for academic and scientific publications, nonprofit communications work, and copywriting for clients ranging from fine artists to media companies to luxury wellness product lines.

Her work has been published in The Imprint, the San Francisco Chronicle, the Sahan Journal, Fostering Families Today,  The Davis Enterprise, Los Angeles Daily News and more.

Sara lives in Los Angeles with her partner, their two young sons and massive puppy, a Roomba (a valued member of the family) and an ever-present cup of coffee.
